is there a way to export our data, in an xml format, perhaps? that way, the authors own the data fully, and not just rely on someone—no matter how nice and fatastic and fabulous, as you are!—protecting it.

Definitely! .xml, .pdf, .epub export is in the works.
API coming as well, so you can scrape/backup your/any data.

This looks rad! Took a while to work out what was going on but looks super promising. Any plans for publications to have doi’s?

Would also be interested in hearing more about the DOI issue – useful for tracking pubs…

Yes! DOIs coming soon. Building the right interfaces and spam prevention, but the plan is to give free DOIs to any published document as well as to any published review/comment.

is it possible to use a colon in the journal name? if i choose the title Re: Visions, the "Re: " part does not show in the title. I am guessing this has to do with the colon being part of the script syntax…

Any plans to make PubPub Section 508 and/or WCAG 2.0 compliant?

Yes. We are in the process of providing much cleaner structure and standardization to our HTML. This is on our roadmap.
